The governance of the NBPRU includes the following components:
- A Joint Advisory Board including representatives from each partner organization, as well as key stakeholder groups, provides advice and give some direction to strategic and key operational decisions, and surface areas for strategic decision making.
- A Joint Management Group consisting of the Co-Directors and representatives from each partner organization oversees key operations decisions, providing direction to strategic decisions and identifying areas for strategic decision making, and conflict resolution.
- An Operations Team with a Co-Director model, with each Co-Director representing one of the partner organizations, oversees daily operations and activities of the NBPRU.
- Institution/organization-specific staff carries out NBPRU work related to administrative functions, research proposal development and research support, communications, and marketing.
